Dennie Boxem was one of the ten professional contemporary artist of Zwolle to contribute to the project ‘De Zwolse Meesters’ (The masters of Zwolle). The project was an initiative of Stichting Openbare Schilderkunst Zwolle (Foundation for Public Art Zwolle), and their goal was to realise an open air museum at the overpass at the Rembrandtlaan.
All paintings are based on historical masterpieces of artist from Zwolle, such as Gerard ter Borch ‘de jonge’ (1617-1681), Willem Grasdorp (1678-1723), Hendrick ten Oever (1639-1716) and Aleida Wolfsen (1648-1692).
Boxem turned his modern version of a ‘Bouquet on vase’ by Willem Grasdorp into a Team-Artwork. 17 clients, interns and friends of Meesterwerk Zwolle participated.
Due to circumstances unknown the project got cancelled by Stichting Openbare schilderkunst, but an exhibition was held in Het Academiehuis Zwolle.
