For, and with, the graduates of Meander College Zwolle this second triptych was made, since they could not have a normal graduation feast due to COVID-19 this year as well. The school again decided to unite their graduates in a Team-Artwork by Dennie Boxem. Together with last years project the two triptychs form a six-panelled artwork of 10,5 by 1,22 meter (409,4 x 47,2 in) ornamenting their entrance.
Dennie Boxem and a team of teachers carefully selected three historical paintings which were in some way symbolising the milestone these students are experiencing; getting their high school diploma.
The sower of Van Gogh represents the students, who have been sowing and are harvesting their diploma right now. The Kiss of Gustav Klimt winks at Corona, symbolising the warmth and affection we have been missing lately. In Golconde, Magritte painted himself tens of times floating in the sky; in a similar way these graduates are taking off to the next level or stage in their lives or carriers.
All parents wrote the names of their sons and daughters on the back of the artworks. This way, their names and contributions will stay on the Meander College, while they move on.
